Paying it forward – The Midrand High School Shoot

As a lecturer at the College we get to meet many wonderful people as well as getting asked to do many wonderful things, last year I was asked to help judge a Fashion Show held by Midrand High School for it´s students.

At the last moment one of the sponsors pulled out and left the show with out any prizes, and we were asked to sponsor two Photo shoot’s to the school as prizes for there students. This is not something we normally do at the College but Waldo Pretorius and I volunteered our time, Sinead Brooke a good friend of mine did the make-up. Kayla brought along her own clothes and the accessories were sourced from the back of the lecturer room - does the green ladder look familiar?

Introducing Kayla De Roche, a 15 year old student at Midrand High School who dreams of becoming a Model.

I am a 3rd generation photographer not because my parents or even my grandparents where Professional photographers but because they used a camera to document their lives and mine. There is no greater feeling than printing an image out big…and when I say big I mean AO. Photographing is only part of my final process, I love incorporating fine art...read more

Here you can view lecturers' portfolios and photo galleries, and see what each of us is up to on our blogs. You can comment on the various posts /...read more
